Photocatalysis is a natural phenomenon similar to photosynthesis of plants, through the action of natural or artificial light (rays UV-A 315-400 nanometers).

This process causes numerous beneficial effects such as:

  • Antibacterial: disintegration of microorganisms such as fungi, moss, bacteria, Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus) occurs. This effect is supported according to the ISO 27447 standard.
  • Elimination of odor: Active-plus materials clean the air that is in contact with ceramic tile, which eliminates odors and toxic fumes, even indoors, in the presence of UV-A light.
  • Clean: hydrophilicity property acts through the natural moisture present in the air, creating a reaction that prevents the adhesion of dirt. Photocatalysis also prevents the formation of fouling components floors and walls, decomposing water, carbon dioxide, sodium nitrate, calcium nitrate and calcium carbonate.

Decontamination: the photocatalytic effect contributes to reducing air pollution, mainly on nitrogen oxide (NOx) by two actions. On the one hand, a direct action of reduction of gaseous harmful (nitrogen oxide (NOx), such as benzene, toluene, etc.) substances produced by human activity (industries, heating, etc.). On the other hand produces an indirect action by destroying pollutants ozone precursors (NOx), with the formation of ozone (O3).

VARIOUS SCIENTIFIC STUDIES CONFIRM THAT FINISH WITH PRINCIPLE 1,000m2 PHOTOCATALYTIC ARE ABLE TO CLEAN THE AIR WITH THE SAME EFFICIENCY 70 TREES THAT WOULD.

Importantly, the catalytic treatment is not toxic and does not contain irritants and not exhausted because it is permanently light reactive whether natural or artificial.

Angel Pastrana, CEO of the company said: "In Gresmanc International we are aware of the growing importance of creating products that help preserve the environment. Getting decontaminating buildings themselves have properties is an important industry for the materials involved in the construction process forward. So in Gresmanc we are applying this process to all products, both flooring, and walls and pools".
